Yay, Saturday

yesterday was a day of getting things done. I don't like housework, never have, but then I put myself through college (the first time) as a maid. It is a good skill to have and fall back on. Yesterday, I played maid and gave the house a scouring. It had been properly cleaned in a while and when I was done, the downstairs practically glowed. I love the way wood floors look after they'd been 'waxed' and polished.

Pulled off the throws, tablecloths and whatever else I could gather up and ran them through the washer. I swept, dusted, tidied, and washed. Nice, but, boy, is my butt dragging today.

The motivation for the cleaning was our friends coming down from Sacramento to see ' Calendar Girls' and to have dinner. It was a fabulous evening. We started with apps at our place (chicken cordon bleu bites) and then went to Bella Vista for dinner. It was not crowded and the food and service were spot on.

Afterwards we headed to the theatre and I was thrilled to see the streets lined with cars. We went from 56% to 60% - a huge leap. We were nearly sold out last night. We did see one couple storm from the theatre at intermission, but it was their loss. The show was every bit as fabulous as I'd hoped and the audience ate it up. They received a well-deserved standing ovation at the end and all I saw were smiles and all I heard was praise afterwards.

Today, we will be doing the usual shopping and then maybe some packing. The dive gear needs to be dragged out and checked, among other stuff. The weather is drop dead gorgeous now that the wind has stopped and I have a feeling it is going to be a banner day.

I'm wishing you one as well!
