It was a fairly quiet weekend, by our standards. Both Barb and Jeff went to the city to see opera and theatre, respectively. We talked with John, but he was not of a mind to get together. He never is anymore. Irene's mum passed a month ago and no one thought to mention it to us. It only shows me how far apart we have drifted in our relationship with them. It makes me sad and I miss them, but what can you do? Relationships are living things and they both blossom and fade. It doesn't sound like they will come to the cabin, if we can indeed get into it at all next month. He had many excuses as why they couldn't. The passing of an era.
TBG decided to get me a birthday gift early and I went with him to pick out a carpet cleaner. Yeah, I know the romance and all, it's staggering. It was my choice, though, and with the five cats, we can really use one. I wanted to try it out, but it was too cold. Better to wait for our blistering weekend.
And because I forgot to do this yesterday...

Titan in his usual morning spot with me.
This is a sign at our vet's office, I love that they ask folks to be quiet when someone is saying goodbye
Little Black coming to check things out.
