So, this weekend, what a blur. Friday we went up to Sacramento to see Book of Mormon and to have dinner with friends. As we have a Masquerade Ball coming up this weekend, we decided to stop at Evangeline’s and check out their various accessories. They have a two story costume shore above the regular shop and it’s always fun to check out what they have up there. TBG found the perfect hat to go with his Pulcinello mask and tux. I already had a suitable hat to go with my gown and Harlequin mask.
After that we headed over to an Irish pub for dinner – it was fabulous. I had bangers and mash that were to die for. TBG had shepherd’s pie and bread pudding for dessert. Because Beanie had recommended it, I had some sticky toffee pudding. YUM! I will need to make that now.
Book of Mormon – what a show! I laughed so much and it was so naughty. I have to admit learning more about Mormons than ever before, but mixed in with some pretty vulgar jokes. It was totally South Park rude, but, of course, with a message.
Saturday was the usual running around and then we went over to Jeff’s for a memorial dinner for Sarah. It’s hard to believe that she’s been gone a year. We had her favorite dishes and visited with Cat and Dawn. It turned out to be a fun evening, but another late one.
Then came the happy happy (not) time change. I got up in a daze and managed to get cats fed, then went back to bed for a couple of hours. It was raining and it didn’t stop until around three in the afternoon. We made chicken soup and bread for dinner. Jeff came over to join us as we didn’t want him alone as it was the day Sarah passed. We made sure the conversation was light and we watched a few episodes of Grace and Favor. He went home with soup, bread, and the DVD set of the show. It was fun, but another late night.
Now, if you will excuse, I’m just going to crawl under my desk and sleep for a bit.
Have a good week all.
