First off, the show was great last night, but the real drama happened before hand at the restaurant. The Evans came down a bit early to play with the kittens (just one of the many services we offer) and then we headed over to Masa. For some reason, they were packed, but we got a nice table and were ordering when who should walk in but Barb and her party. They originally went to the Olive Garden, but there was an hour wait for a table, so they came to Masa and managed to get one of the last tables. The kitchen was slammed and Barb's party took their time in ordering. We ate and were getting ready to leave and found out that two of her party hadn’t gotten their entrees. Barb was furious.
When we met up with her at the theatre – they arrived with about ten minutes to spare (Julie and Joan were carrying their entrees in take-out trays), she announced that she would never go there again (this is what happens, you see. She and Rod would do this. They would find a restaurant and patronize it until they felt they were slighted in some way. Then they would drop it like a hot potato). Now, I think Masa should have done something about the bill, comped something, but they didn’t and they have now lost customers. Barb lost face and once that happens, there are no second chances.
Today, we have just been doing the usual. Went to breakfast, then did the grocery shopping. We stopped at Target and I picked up a cat litter pan with high sides to see if that would help with the litter issue in the bedroom. It can't hurt. I took the larger tray from the bedroom and exchanged it for the two smaller trays in the bathroom. those were fine when the kittens were babies, but they get litter everywhere now. Hopefully that will help.
We also changed the bed, took down the bed curtains and the canopy and washed those. That's when the kittens discovered the top of the bed. Bête Noir especially went bonkers, so we kept the canopy off and put the old cat platform back in place. We will see what happens. Have to say it seems much more airy with the curtains washed.
The sun is shining today and it looks gorgeous, but it is very chilly, low 50's and we had dense fog until around eleven. The house seems extra chilly, but the thermostat says no. We'll be cooking soon, so that will warm the house up.
Tonight we will kick up the fireplace, have some dinner in front of it and watch a movie. Whatever else needs to be done is just going to have to wait until tomorrow.
