Thank the stars the day is winding down

Well, sort of. When it starts very early, like mine, by the time you get to mid afternoon, it feels late. The last two days have pretty much been nothing but running. How can we be so busy during the week and even busier on the weekends?

At least the house is in good order (vacuumed, dusted, did laundry, cleaned the bathrooms, washed and waxed the floors and still managed to play with cats). I keep hoping that means some down time, but it never does. it never stops.

At least I have gotten my latest quilting project ready for the trip ( a pineapple this time). I'm torn as to whether to do some stitching on it or just leaving it for vacation. If not, then I'd like to do a second one for now, but what to do? I have a table runner that I should tackle, but I've since used up the material I purchased in Hawaii for other projects... like say a pineapple.

Was a little bummed to discover that someone decided they wanted our Meyer lemons more than us and stripped our tree (it's obviously in a garden and not on communal property, like the avocado, grapefruit and pear trees). It makes me sad. We would have happily shared with them if they'd asked. Sigh...

Had a great dinner with our friends last night. They are flying out to Venice on Monday for a two week cruise. They are excited and I'm glad they are doing the trip.

And now I have four cats that are swearing to me that they haven't had a meal in months. Months, I tell you! Jenny is busy napping with TBG. After that, it'll be a call to Miss Sparky and then starting on dinner. Hope everyone has a good and restful night.
