Work has been just this side of sucky. Ticket sales are non existent for our fundraiser. We open in two weeks from today and they sit at 11%. Dennis has already spent the money he was going to supposedly make on this and we are still $2,000 in the hole. We can't make payroll next week and I listened to him ordering lights yesterday. Not because we need them, but because he wants the same kind he had in his old theatre. His plans for the theatre would pretty much hit the million dollar mark, but he thinks he can accomplish it all for $350,000. Yeah, not so much... I hope he directs better than he runs a theatre.
I offered to come in and work on Fridays during April to help with the season, but Dennis said that I wasn't necessary. Gee, doesn't that make me feel loved! I just wonder how many seasons ticket campaigns he's been through here so that he would be an expect on how busy we are. Traditionally, we are so hammered that we have had to bring in volunteers to take care of the overflow. I told Araceli that Dennis has nixed my working on Fridays. She didn't seem to care either. I suspect my thoughts of leaving in June are becoming more and more of a reality. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone will even know I'm gone.
On brighter news, we are finally getting some seasonal weather and might even get to 70 today. Here's hoping. I'm so ready for some warmer temperatures now. Of course, I will be complaining about it come July, but right now, a little warmth would be nice.
Bête Noir is getting a little chunky and I'm starting to think that we are going to have to discuss the D word. She's small and a lot of weight won't do her any good. I'm going to weigh everyone and see what happens. it's just ironic because she was my fussy eater as a kitten. I would have done anything to get her to eat... sigh...
Hope that your week is going well. Keep your eye on the prize.
