Last night could have gone a bit better. Barb was fabulous, funny and the old Barb. She hates Dennis, as does most of the Board and I think the writing is on the wall for him. May I be just a little happy about this news? They feel that he does not have the best interests of the theatre at heart. Ya think?
The meal was delicious and fun. We went to an Irish pub and it was pretty quiet. I suspect everyone was holding off for tonight. We had our usual 'this and that' appetizer (meats, cheese, pickled veggies, fruits, etc.), then I had fish and chips. TBG had Shepherd's Pie and Barb had beer mussels.
Then we walked to the show. We had fabulous seats, but the show was so poorly attended that they asked people to come down front and take an empty seat. There were technical difficulties that delayed the start nearly a half hour. Then instead of it being Glenn Miller’s music, it was mostly others with six people singing and dancing to music of the era. I thought we were going to hear Big Band or at least more of Glenn Miller's music, but they were just back up. it was very disappointing.
At nine, they broke for Intermission and I could see the disappointment and sadness on Barb’s face. When I asked if she wanted to leave, she jumped at it (I think too many memories) and so we left before the second act. We’d heard the two songs we wanted (In the Mood and Moonlight Serenade), so we were good. Got home just after ten. It wasn't a bad night, just not what I expected.
My blood test went fabulously and you can't even see the mark today. So, so impressed! As I'm very fair skinned, I bruise easily and usually it looks likes someone took a stick to me.
Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend. We have a gorgeous day today, but it's supposed to start raining tomorrow and that will last through Wednesday. Yay, team...
