The final weekend before vacation is here and with that comes all sorts of fun projects. Tomorrow I will get my hair cut and then we have a bon voyage party at Barb's tomorrow night. The weather is starting to ramp back after hitting 96 yesterday(tying our all-time high). By Friday night, it should be back in the 80's and that will make it nice. We will be able to sit out in her back yard and have drinks and apps. We are supplying the cake - a tres leche cake in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Should be a yummy finish to the evening.
Saturday will be the usual going out for breakfast and then doing a little shopping for the last four days that we will be home. At some point our pet sitter wants to come by and just touch base with us. It will be barely in the 70's by then. Feast or famine, I swear.
Sunday has been reserved for the actual packing of the suitcases. I tend to make piles everywhere, so Sunday the piles will actually be sorted through and dealt with. In the meantime, we will be placating pusses. The older ones know something is up and have become Velcro kitties. Sigh... Wish this part of travel was a bit easier. Shannon is wonderful with them and then always look great when we get back. However... as ever pet parent knows, it's tough leaving them behind.
Last night we went over to Jeff's to swim and have dinner. The pool was heavenly, so perfect that I didn't want to get out of it. He also had the spa on, so I lingered in there for a bit as well. Dinner was a fabulous Mediterranean salad and then lentil soup. We brought over fruit tarts for dessert. Got home at about eight and discovered there was no electricity. It was a pretty miserable two hours, but it finally came back on. Yay...
Ticket sales are doing okay. We are to 68% for the run. We are hoping to hit 70%, but we will see what happens this weekend.
Back to the grind now - here's wishing everyone a good Thursday and hopefully a fabulous Friday!
