Our flight from SFO to LAX was a bit of a challenge. We were on the ground longer in LA than we were in the air. They are doing massive construction and have closed a runway. This was also the reason that Sparky's flight was delayed. They added nearly an hour to our flight time and then we had to sit and wait for our gate to clear. Not fun. However, happiness is watching them load your luggage and we did just that - plus they were super quick with the luggage and ours were the first one off and were together! A good start, indeed.
TBG was worried about getting a vehicle big enough for all our suitcases. Sparky was amazed at how much we packed. However, we were able to get an SUV, so there was plenty of room for everything. We got to the hotel in good stead and got checked in. The room is nice and comfortable and we have a view of the harbor - although sadly not of our cruise terminal.
Then came the adventure of finding the BevMo, but thanks to the Tom Tom, we did and the TJ's was right next door. Unfortunately, the rooms don't have refrigerators, so we have to do our perishable shopping today. After that we headed back to the room for some rest and to get changed for dinner at the Aulde Dubliner.
Loud, that's the best description I can manage - very loud and very small. The place was packed, and there was live music, which was also really loud. We were thinking about leaving, but we were meeting people, so we ended up staying and having a really great if noisy evening. We met up with Bob, Eve and Joe from Cruise Critic and had such a blast. Sparky was a bit worried, but they quickly put her at ease.
Slept like a log last night in our very comfy bed and woke refreshed, if a little sore from all the baggage dragging from yesterday and I will admit to a bit of a hangover. Thankfully we have a quiet morning ahead until 11 when we blow this place and head back over to TJ's just before boarding.
Thanks for reading. Not very exciting, I know. Once I can get my mouse to work< I will upload some shots. Until then I wish you a great day.
