Friday, we had a really good meal at Co Co-Ro I had a combination of nigiri and sashimi - so good. TBG had his usual cilantro beef, ebi and Majuro. Thus stuffed, we walked over to the theatre and saw the show. Barb and Jeff found it lacking, but we enjoyed it. They tend to see things from a more critical eye (Barb the costumes and directing, Jeff the directing). It wasn't the best production, but we enjoyed it and three days later, we are still humming the songs (I'm lovely, absolutely lovely...). It was a late night (for me), but a fun one.
The next day we woke to much cooler temperatures, in fact, it felt just like Volcano (Big Island) in the morning. We did our shopping and then came home to laze around until it was time for the drive to Emeryville and Trader Vic's. Traffic wasn't bad and we had a great table overlooking the bay. The restaurant was a bit noisy, but it quieted down as the evening went on. We started with cocktails (three shi-shi tropical drinks and a martini (Jeff). The food was incredible, as always, and best of all, there was no attempt to hurry us along. Another late night.
Sunday, my kick back day, at least until Jeff called and said come to dinner. We were having chilled green pea soup and bread, so we brought that along and he did apps, a salad and dessert (Rocky Road - yum!). We swam for a couple of hours and lingered outside, enjoying the cooler temperatures. We talked at length about the trip and what we were looking forward to. And yet another late night...
This morning, I started the day by oversleeping two hours... nice, but now I feel out of step and the coffee isn't helping... heck of a weekend, though...
Didn't really take any photos of the restaurant or the food, but I did take these:
My mob - Pyewacket (now back to her old weight), Patachou, Titan (hiding from Patachou), Jenny and Bete Noir - four of the five were waiting for dinner, hence the expectant looks.
My birthday bouquet from bonniejean1953
I discovered that you can't take the bear off or the vase tips over. :P
