Sunday, Sunday

Not to be confused with Monday, Monday. It's been a busy weekend. I know that shocks all of you. Friday just sort of tumbled by, capped by a great evening spent in Jeff's pool and lounging around afterwards, drinking wine, eating pizza and looking at some of his old photo albums. Sarah put together great albums and it was fun to relive their honeymoon in Japan and their years in Taiwan.

Saturday was an early start because it was going to be another 100+ day (Friday was 102 F. officially), so we went out, did our weekly grocery shopping and were back by nine. I figured the rest of the day would be cruise city. Nope. TBG decided it was time to break out the carpet cleaning and do the rugs. We also had a pillow from Jeff's that needed some TLC. For nearly three hours, we vacuumed, shampooed and cleaned. The place looks great, but I was so tired. We ate the rest of the pizza and took a nap.

Then it was time for more chores (Huh? she asked wearily). this time it was to the post office, the Japanese market (yum fresh ahi for sushi apps), Smart for water and the shed to store the last bits of camping and summer concert stuff. We stumbled back home and while TBG took another nap, I called Sparky and made dinner, a shrimp and snow pea stir fry. TBG woke up in time to prep the ahi for sushi and we spent the rest of the evening relaxing (finally) and watching Whisper in the Night and I finished up the applique on the next Raven square.

This morning it was tough crawling out of bed, but I managed, although I spent most of my early hours writing - so many lovely Halloween prompts - thank you, one and all! Breakfast was sausage and lilikoi pancakes. Afterwards, I gave up and took a nap while TBG went to the Farmers Market and stopped to pick up stuff to take on our next adventure. He'd read on the Blue Lagoon site that we would be visiting schools and that it would be nice if we brought something along. TBG decided on soccer balls, pumps, solar calculators and thumb drives. I think it's a bit ironic to be taking Wilson soccer balls to the place where Castaway was filmed, but it could just be me.

Now we are getting ready to head to the movies to see Castle in the Sky

I hope that everyone has been having a great weekend and will continue to do so. Stop if you can and take a moment to wish folks down in the storm path good thoughts. I will leave you with this.

from left to right - Titan, Pywacket, Patachou, Bete Noir and Jenny.  Patachou had finished his and was scoping out his sister's.  She was not amused.
