Illya - chatty

The Friday Five for January 15, 2016

1. What makes it easy to talk to someone?
2. What percent of the day do you spend talking?
3. Who, in your opinion communicates better: men or women?
4. What topics do you avoid when talking to a stranger?
5. Do you like to eavesdrop on other people's conversations?

1. A lot of it depends upon the situation. For example, I find it easier to talk to a stranger during a vacation than I do when I'm at home. Body language also has a lot to do with it and whether or not they give the impression of whether or not they want to be engaged. That said, I'll talk to a fence post just to pass the time on occasion.

2. About 75-80%. I work with the public, so there's lot of conversations during the day, plus my boss is big on communicating. At home, I will talk to the cats or TBG or call someone. Yeah, I'm a bit of a Chatty Kathy, but it doesn't mean that I don't know when to shut up and listen.

3. Hmm, again it depends upon the situation, but usually men are easier for me to talk with.

4. Well, the usual, politics and religion are always hot bed topics and good to avoid. Not that they don't come up, but I never initiate them. Again, it depends upon the situation and where I am.

5. I try not to. There is just some stuff I don't want to hear. There are many conversations in the office that I would prefer not to overhear because then it puts me in a bad position of whether to keep information to myself or pass it along. At home, I'm likely to zone out TBG when he's talking on the phone as I know he'll pass whatever I need to know along.

Yay, Friday

So, so happy to have made it here. The UTI seems to be clearing up nicely and that's a relief. We hates 'em, my precious.

The forecast for the next week is for one storm after another after another. They hit us at night, moves out by midday for a gloriously sunny, usually mild afternoon and the next one comes in at sunset. it rains at night and then we are done. it's like living in Camelot.

Jenny is totally back to normal now. She is all healed and you can't even see a scar. Now comes the three months for the hair to grow back...

We open Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike tonight. The preview performance was met with great success and we got a great review.

The funny this about this photo is Melissa (left) is gorgeous in real life and they had to work so hard to 'dress her down' for the role. Elizabeth is the wife of my boss and I can't wait to see the two of them together. They are such great actresses. We are seeing it Sunday and I'm very excited.

I'm jazzed that this will be a four-day weekend for me. Yay, and no plans! Double yay! Hope everyone has a great weekend planned, too.
Another bad day

I can't believe I forgot to add this

The Boy comes home today. He has moved from New York back to California. After fourteen years, he is back home. Granted he will be living in the Bay Area, but being an hour and change away is a whole lot different than back East. He called yesterday so that he could say it would be the last time he'd talk to me in New York and to ask if he could come for Thanksgiving dinner. Like I would tell him no! It will be so good to have him close and to finally meet his boyfriend. Happy sigh and happy dance!

just wondering

Do you have arthritis?

Can you roll your tongue up from the sides?

Did you or your mum ever collect Green Stamps or one of their many knock offs?

Bonus: True or false, In the 60's a woman couldn't: serve on a jury, use a credit card, or enroll in an Ivy League School.
