The Friday Five for February 19, 2016

These come from feodora

1. Do you live a house, a condo, or some kind of apartment?
2. Do you rent or own?
3. What’s one thing that you would change about it if you could?
4. Would you like to move?
5. Do you read the answers of others before answering yourself?

1. We live in a two-story townhouse which is part of a very large apartment complex.

2. We rent. Always have, always will.

3. These days, I'm sort of wishing it was one story.

4. I wouldn't, but I suspect we will in the next few years, especially if we both retire.

5. Nope. I answer first, but I do read everyone's answers!

Sigh - we have lost Haper Lee.

Harper Lee dead at the age of 89

To Kill a Mockingbird was one of the stories that stayed with me growing up. It made me happy, sad, and frustrated. It honed my sense of right and wrong and to judge people by their actions, not their appearance. I still haven't read its sequel and I'm not sure that I ever will. The first book made such an impact upon me, I'm not certain I want to read something that might diminish that in a way.

Finally a minute to collect my thoughts.

It's been a sort of flighty sort of day, but things are starting to quiet down... or as much as they ever seem to around here.

For the last week or so, my right knee has been bothering me, so I bit the bullet and went to see my acupuncturist. Dr. Wang is this tiny thing, but she does magic with her fingers. Yesterday I could barely walk and going up and down the stairs was hell. Today, my knee is 99% better with very little pain. She also worked on my hand and today I am able to make a fist - haven't been able to do that for a while. I have another treatment on Monday and I'm looking forward to it.

We are heading out tonight for dinner with friends, but it looks like I may have dodged the social bullet for the rest of the weekend. I am hoping so. It would be nice to have some down time. Of course, if my socially minded hubby has any say in the matter, that won't be the case.

We got some good rain yesterday - 0.35 of an inch, which is a lot for us. It's starting to cloud up again, so we might get another shower or two. Best of all was the news from the mountains. Most places got around two feet. Last year we were 21% of average - today we are 96%. If these storms will keep coming, we will be okay. I'd much rather have the rain than the sunny warm temperatures right now.

Hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend. Hugs all around!

Random Friday...

Do you get annoyed when you get called into work on your day off (or did you, if you are now retired)?

If you could snap your fingers and instantly know a foreign language, what would it be?

Do you have anything hanging off your cell phone or rearview mirror?
