minion hula

Someone pinch me

Jeff called last night and offered us his back yard for the luau. That means we wouldn't have to move a mess of furniture and try to squeeze everyone around our table in our living room. It would mean fresh air, the sound of running water (he has a waterfall feature to his swimming pool), lush vegetation and, oh yes, a swimming pool. There would be loads of space (in the shade) to set up the tables and chairs we can borrow from SCT and still have ample space to mill about. There are tons of places to hang lights and, best of all, I don't have to clean house on top of everything else. He's also cleared the weekend so we can set up on Friday and strike on Sunday.

The downside, of course, would be that we would have to haul everything there and do some last minute cooking in his kitchen, which I'm not really keen on, but he does have a staging area and has offered his dining room table for the buffet line and even to provide all the dishes.

I'm still a little bit in shock and so excited I can't sit still. The only thing I wish is that he'd asked us on Sunday before I mailed out all the invitations yesterday... oh, well, it's a small price to pay for such a lovely and generous offer.
