comedy and tragedy

I don't know whether to laugh or cry

We are up to 78% of our capacity sold for Mary Poppins. We have just over 1100 seats left for an 18 show run. Tomorrow the reviewer will come and I can only imagine what it will be like come Friday morning. It is entirely possible to be sold out before the end of the first weekend. That's great news, but I feel sorry for anyone coming into the game late. They are going to be skunked. And next Christmas's show will be even worse. They are talking about adding another entire weekend. And, no, I won't tell you what it is. It's still under wraps.

We need rain! We want cooler weather. Come on, folks, work with me here. They are saying we might have a little rain tonight, but probably not. So far the projections are that we will be able to have drinks and apps out of the patio at Barb's house. She has a great back yard and so that will be nice. There are only 13 guests at the moment. We will have to see if that stands or changes.

Exciting cooking news, at least for us, they are selling local ginger at our farmers market. We found some this past weekend. it's a bit more fibrous than the commercial brands, but its flavor is more mild, less hot. I put some in the stir fry last night and it got overwhelmed by the oyster sauce. I've never had that happen before. It sure tasted good, though.
