simons cat by the fire

A sleepy day

Thankfully one last quiet weekend before the insanity of the holiday season hits. From here on out, it's going to be a mad dash of holiday obligations and craziness. I am still pinching myself in an attempt to believe it's the tail end of the year.

We saw Mary Poppins Friday night and give the devil his due, the set was fabulous. Brian did a great job of designing the big units so that they moved quietly and smoothly, yet stayed rock solid when people were on them. The casting was perfect, the music fabulous... we won't mention the mic issues someone was having. All in all, it was a great night. And best of all, knock wood, we didn't seem to catch our friends' colds.

They had just returned from Tierra Del Fuego and while they loved the trip, both of them came back sick. Ick, that is never fun.

Yesterday was a day for doing chores and playing catch up with stuff around the house. I made a nice pot roast for dinner and we ate pie in front of the fireplace. C'est bon.

Today has been resting and writing - my two favorite activities on a Sunday. It's been cool gray and rainy, even better weather for staying inside.

And it wouldn't be a Sunday without some shots of the cats. Like us, they seem to be in massive kick back mode today... except Patachou discovered you can climb curtains. We are not amused.

I hope everyone had/is having a good weekend.

Just wondering

Do you read instructions? How often do you actually follow them?

How many batteries do you have on hand right at this moment?

Have you ever stepped on a Leggo or a tack or something else equally nasty?
