minion whaaa?

But it does explain things

As of late, my outside cats have been eating a lot. I thought maybe they were trying to pack on the pounds for winter, then I wondered if they had worms... they just seemed to always be hungry.

This morning I discovered why when I opened the blinds and discovered two of the fattest raccoons I'd ever seen going to town on the kittens' dry food (it had ants in it, so I put it outside). I chased them off, using a hose and the kitchen garbage bag when my presence wasn't enough.

Then I put food down for the outside cats, thinking we were done with it. I happened to look out and saw Grey looking nervous and thought Meanie was on his way in, but it was three raccoons this time (I'm thinking Mom and her nearly adult cubs). I had to stand watch so that the cats could get some food. At least I know why they were always hungry... I am going to have to rethink things now...

The Friday Five for September 14, 2018

1. Have you ever experienced a hurricane firsthand?

2. Have you ever experienced outside heat over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celcius)?

3. When and where was the coldest temperature you have ever experienced?

4. Is your household prepared for a possible power outage of two to seven days?

5. Do you have a go bag?

1. I have. We went through Hurricane Charley in Florida. The eye passed over the hotel we were staying in. It was quite exciting.

2. Yeah, that's practically all of July in the Central Valley. We had 42 consecutive days over 100 this summer.

3. Gosh, I'm thinking Vermont when I was growing up, but I couldn't say for certain.

4. Not really. the most we've had to deal with has been eight hours.

5. We do. Both for us and the cats.
