My default

You'll shoot your eye out!

First it was off to Wal Mart to get cat food, but they were totally sold out of our brand except for three boxes… It’s a national brand, what the heck? The traffic was light and wonderful until we got to the exit for Placerville and it slowed to a crawl/stopped. We struggled through, nearly 35 minutes to go a few miles and suddenly it was gone. We got to Frye’s, which was the reason for fighting the traffic and they had pulled the wrong item for TBG and there wasn’t the correct item in the store. heck, there's hardly anything in the store. I suspect it will be closed by the new year. All that time, effort and gas for nothing.

We got downtown without any trouble and to the parking garage. From there it was a short walk to the restaurant. We got to DeVries and the noise coming from inside was enough to make the sidewalk tremble. When my Irish stew came, it was lovely, with lots of carrots, onions, potatoes and celery, but no meat… hmm… This was no boding well for the show, but *yay*.

Well, after being very worried, the show turned out to be great. Since they are remodeling the community center, they set up the auditorium for the Broadway series. The seats were fairly comfortable and our seats are right by both the bathroom and concessions (nice at intermission). After being horribly disappointed with the ‘nationally broadcast musical event’ that they had on TV, I was pleased that the musical was very much like the movie. It was a much smaller show than usual, with only about 20 in the cast. The sets were perfect, fragmented and exactly what was needed.

And, OMG, could these kids sing and dance. Wow, just wow. They had an eight year old tap dancer who was better than most of the adults. Sound was perfect and I could understand every word spoken or sung.

This is not our show from last night, but it is the same cast and production.

This is when I want to get up on the roof and shout, "I LOVE THEATRE!"
