Okay, found him

Remember I was telling you about the little guy who was a tap dancing wizard? Well, I found him and, best of all, it's from the Tony Awards, so the quality is great. A tip of the hat to thespian15 for making me look for this.

And how can you not love a song entitled, "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" and has Neil Patrick Harris doing an intro?

So, yesterday, we were cooking machines.

After lunch yesterday, we got started on cooking. TBG took on Delmonico Potatoes and I did the fruitcake. We started at one and finished at 5:30. In the meantime, I also did a 'quickie' beef stroganoff. It was a very full afternoon, but it's over and done with now. The cakes will have three weeks to age a bit. The potatoes will be for dinner this week (they are really better heated up). Today is a crash and burn day. I'm doing a lentil soup for dinner tonight and think I will use up some sausage in it. The recipe is pretty straight forward, so no stress there.

If anyone would like recipes, let me know. While the potatoes are involved, they are really good and the stroganoff was very fast and tasty.

wiseheart, as promised, here is the recipe


Quickie Beefy Stroganoff

1 lb. round steak cut into 3/4 “cubes
Flour
1 clove garlic minced
2 T. fat
1/2 cup chopped onion*
1 6 oz. can mushrooms (drained with liquid saved)**
1 cup sour cream
1 10 ½ zo can of condensed tomato soup
1 Tb. Worcestershire sauce
6 – 8 drops of Tobasco sauce


Dip meat in flour and brown in fat. Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms to beef. Combine sour cream, tomato soup, mushroom liquid and seasonings. Add to meat mixture and simmer until tender, about 1 hour
Serve over rice or pasta.

*I used a whole medium size onion
**I used fresh mushrooms, sliced and added a ½ cup of water to replace the liquid from the canned mushrooms.
