That felt good!

Here to report that we had a great time at the show yesterday. I was amazed at how many people were there. It seemed like there was a full house, but I know we are only doing a 3/4 percentage. Everyone was masked and the a/c was on, so it was very comfortable, despite the 101 F. outside.

The new flooring is nice, but it made the lobby loud and the poor will call person was really struggling to here. Inside the theatre, the rug had gone from blue to red and the walls had gone from a dark brown to burgundy red. It was different. What would have been nice would have been if they'd replaced the Grand Rag.

Happily, the show was fabulous. Casting was right on the money. The singing was great and everyone enunciated (always a bug-g-boo of mine) so that you could understand them. The various nods to other musicals flew fast and furious and the house about came down with the ending of "Musical." It told me just how many people misses this as much as I do.

This is NOT our production and it is long, but it is fun to see how many nods to other musicals you can pick out (the rest of the show is like this. too. "That sounds miserable." "I believe it's pronounced misérables." )

And then in the lobby, I was surprised with this:

It was their retirement gift to me. Barb was especially excited because she came up with the Hawaiian for it. I was flattered.

Best of all, I ran into Julie, an old friend of mine. They moved to the next town over and we totally lost track of each other. It was so good to see her and know that she is well (a teacher) as is her husband. We made plans to get together soon.

Afterwards, we went back to The German Guys and had another wonderful dinner. I am ready to not have German food for a while, though.

Gosh, what a great day!

The six word challenge (sorry it's late!)

Six words – what can you make of them? You have up to 100 words and a week to figure that out. It can take the shape of a poem, prose, drabble, or even just a sentence - anything you want. Be silly, creative, but most importantly, have some fun! On Friday, we can post the results and see how we all did!

The words:
