Last night we heard an odd sound and discovered that two of the Giant Birds of Paradise had given up the gun and toppled. One is nearly on the ground and the other is resting against the storage closet's roof. Tonight we will take them down. We had wanted regular birds and bought these by accident. I am not sorry to see them go, but I am thankful that they didn't go over on the parking structure.
Work has started to sort of come together. We have a work day this Saturday and they are planning on painting the lobby. Of course, no one has said anything to Jay about it and she will hit the ceiling when she finds out she wasn't asked. I'm having to make a list of our building donors because they will be pulling down the donor board. The plan is to mount a TV screen there with a feed into the theatre so latecomers can watch the show until they are allowed in. We'll see what happens.
We got the call that we have picked up another sponsor for next season, which leaves just one musical looking for someone to sponsor it. One even have two sponsors. This has taken a lot of pressure off from us and we are looking to improve our buildings infrastructure with it. Maybe, just maybe we will get the parking lot repaved after long last. We just finished an overhaul of our HVAC and sound systems.
Last weekend we put up one security light. The second one has come so we will be doing that this weekend (goodbye Sunday) as well. Another weekend spent at the theatre... sigh... Why not do it on Saturday? We have a massive storm headed our way and the last thing you want to be doing in a rain storm is messing with electricity on a metal ladder.
I guess we are going to go ahead with the Wine Wall. This is a fundraising thing that TBG and I came up with for a shrimp feed. The bottles are placed with the punts out, so you don't know what brand you are getting, except for red or white. The buyer pays $10 and picks a bottle. We have the added attraction of wine tastings. I have tickets for 12 and two different wineries, so some random bottle will have those attached as well. Hopefully it will raise a little money. Since it's my brainchild, I will be manning it for the last performance of Dead Man. Hopefully it will do well. We will have to see.
For a change, the cats, all nine of them, are in good shape and eating well. The kittens are losing massive amounts of hair and I'm brushing them all the time. I caught Patachou rubbing against his brush this morning. A self brushing cat! :D
I took a week off from writing just to give myself a chance to regroup. The Easter Eggs really did me in this year. I'm totally wiped and that's not a good feeling. I do have a Foothills to post and have a S&S in my head, but that's it. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
It's Thursday, the week is nearly over and I'm not the least bit unhappy about it. Even though the weekend will pass in a blur, I'm glad it's almost here.
Hope everyone will have a brilliant Thursday.
