Friday night we went to see An American in Paris and while the dancing was incredible, the story was a little weak and the songs, while Gershwin, seemed to be some of the weakest ones they'd written. I was impressed with the dance and the set, but not much else. We had dinner at Mazulo's which has some of Sacramento's best pizza, so that was nice and set the evening on a good path. We got home before midnight, which is always good, but for a variety of reasons didn't get to bed before midnight. That always makes for a draggy sort of next day.
One of the things that slowed up down was finding poop in the hallway. The kittens seem to be prone to cling ons (of the non ST variety), so I wasn't terrible surprised. However, it had guests - more icky worms. Not so yay, but I put it in a plastic baggie for the vet! So along with everything else, we had to schedule a visit to the vet's.
We hit the ground running on Saturday because we wanted to get all the shopping done before taking TBG's truck in for some minor body repairs at 9:30. We cleared that easily, along with a stop at the vet. We got his truck over and even stopped by the storage shed to drop off the cat house, Hawaiian, and Halloween decorations. The rest of the day was sort of laid back. We got the car back that afternoon and TBG took it home while I hit the vet for the medication and the PO for mail.
We grilled steaks and corn and I made some sweet potato fries to go with it. It wasn't until the middle of the night that my stomach acted up. Sigh... this get old stuff sucks. Boo hiss. I'm not sure if I picked up a stomach bug or what, but my gut wasn't happy at all. At least I'm feeling better today -and just in time for work.
Yesterday, I got up and was feeling sort of okay, at least enough to make breakfast. Then the president of the board called and asked if I'd let her into the office for her iPad. I did, but ended up having another quality time out in the bathroom (happily after she'd left). I went home and went to bed, sleeping until it was time to get up and go see Porco Russo
It took me a long time to warm up to this movie, which was odd because Michael Keaton did the voice for Marco (Porco). It's one of my favorites now.
While I slept, TBG roasted off a chicken, then I got up and we deboned it and roasted off the bones. it made for some incredible stock for the evening's chicken stew. We ate that and watched Howl's Moving Castle. There are times when I wonder why we have cable at all.
I hope that everyone will have a great week and have fun plans for next weekend's Memorial Day
