Yesterday, the computers came up just fine with Internet to spare. Whew, finally a step back towards normality... except, then we get a call from our on-line ticket company. They can't access our server. Of course they can't. It was swapped out the day before... which means we weren't selling any tickets. Of course, we weren't selling any tickets in the box office either, but that's neither here nor there...
A mess of frantic phones by Araceli dropped everything into TBG's lap. He wasn't very happy about it, but he coordinated it with Troy, the ticketing guy and it was an easy fix. Happily, but it didn't get back on line until afterhours. Even so, we are only up to 27% and the show opens in 15 days... of course, if our marketing person had gotten off her duff and got the flyer done on time, it would have gone out two weeks ago. She is a constant frustration. She cannot manage her time and constantly over-extends herself by volunteering for everything that comes down the line. That's great and it's her call, but we are paying her for this. I'd like to think that would take precedence over a freebie. Apparently not, though, and it's not getting any better. In fact, it's getting worse and I can sort of understand why she's been let go from so many companies over the years. This isn't a new pattern. I don't know how much longer the Board will tolerate this. Volunteering is good, but you have to do your work, first.
I made an appointment for the kittens on Monday. I am hoping we will have the car back by then. The car, which we just spent $$$$ on to repair its a/c is still blowing hot air. It can't be, they cry. It is and then we proved it. So, it's back in the shop and we are down to the Bronco... again.
The ticketing thing didn't really directly impact me. I spent my day doing data input - boring, but it was something to do. Hopefully, today will be a bit better and busier. If nothing else, at least it makes the end of my week. A week that started out with 102 and is now looking at 71 as our high today. Tomorrow, we are supposed to hit 98. Sigh... I have a feeling it's going to be an interesting summer.
