So last night, TBG went for a walk and saw some of the local wildlife. There was a fat raccoon helping himself to the cat food that someone puts down for the cats by our main office and then, passing a house, he saw a skunk. The skunk went into alert mode, but TBG ignored him.

Apparently he dissed the skunk because it (or one of its kin) let go right under our window, so we were gasping all night long. There was nothing we could do to get rid of the smell. Throats sore, eyes burning, we went out this morning to try and find something to kill the smell. The best anyone could offer was Nature's Remedy. I use that for the cats. It did help a little, but the neighbors got it worse. We let them use it, too. And we have a dinner and a movie party tonight. Not cool. There won't be any open windows tonight. This is sad, too, because it's the perfect day to let the wind blow through. Sigh...

More shopping adventures over at Angkor this morning. We picked up some sausage, sweet rice, Chinese broccoli, more stir fry veggies, noodles, some long beans and Chinese corn on the cob. I have quite enjoyed this foray into Asian flavors.

Dinner tonight is going to be pretty straight forward. I'm making a pork roast with a mushroom gravy (literally, you dump a packet of Lipton onion soup mix and then top it with cream of mushroom soup. Sound sort of icky, but it's really tasty. I'll roast it with potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, celery and mushrooms. Apps will be pork shomi and some artichoke spinach bites, with Prosecco, then salad is going to be spinach with pears, blue cheese and candied walnuts, all served with a red blend that our guests favor. Dessert is going to be a massive chocolate chip cookie cake.

We are set up to watchSummertime, a Venice, summer romance story. I just finished A Thousand Days in Venice ugh... not even the recipes were exciting... well, maybe the pasta with walnut sauce...

Guess it's time to go clean the guest bathroom and light some more candles.

Happy Saturday night, everyone!
