Last night I was talking with sparky955, when an explosion of cats hit the bedroom. I couldn't figure out what was going on and that when I saw the little bird perched on the drapes. I hung up and it flew into the hallway, perching on the top of the linen cabinet door. I got Titan and Pyewacket into the study and closed them in. The little bird flew into the bedroom and I was able to get Patachou and Bete Noir out of the bedroom and shut the door. Then I opened up the balcony door and with a tiny bit of encouragement, it flew right out. This is the second time in a week, someone brought in a live bird. He was too young last year to know what he was doing, but last Wednesday, I found a little bird downstairs. It was still alive, so I caught it and let it go. At that point, he was part of the very interested party attending me. Sigh. I'm hoping this isn't a trend. I'm thinking it's Patachou. As you can see, he was worn out by it.
Last night we had some fish, so I decided to bake an apple tartin for dessert tonight and then decided that I needed to use up the eggplants I've been sitting on for two weeks. I didn't get a shot of the tartin, but this was the veggie dish. I thought it was really pretty. The cooked version was mostly brown (soyu & miso sauce):
