It was a fairly smooth drive up, even though Jane took us on a back way to Hwy 99 (big tangle of traffic on I-5, thanks to the holiday coming up). The parking was a big of a tangle, but we finally figured out how to get into their parking lot.
The restaurant is lovely and very small, I'm thinking about 30 tops total. And quiet. It was so wonderfully quiet that we were able to have a delightful conversation with our next door diners (about to leave for Tahiti). That made for a lovely night.
We started out with the chef's special app, a sausage platter with fresh sauerkraut(the sausage were so plumb, they oozed). We followed that with a beet and goat cheese salad, then TBG had Pan Seared Walu (a firm fish, like mahimahi) and I had duck confit. We finished the meal off with a raspberry and peach cobbler. I had a zin wine, vintner unknown, and TBG had a moscato (also an unknown vintner). It was a little pricy, but the fanciest meal we've had in a long time.
I took this of TBG and I love the pattern that the light made on his shirt.
