Instead, I played on the computer until TBG got up. We showered and were out of the house by 7:15. That's when we heard the kitten. We looked, but couldn't find it.
After a nice breakfast at the marina, we did our usual shopping and headed home. TBG went kitten hunting again, but to no avail. Instead, he cleaned up the garden and then decided it was time for a nap. I laid down with the best of intentions, but a nap never happened. Instead I got up and watched a very bad b/w horror movie (I love this time of the year) and quilted. Pye kept my lap warm.
TBG got up and made us some lunch and then we tackled the bamboo screens. We put them up in the summer for shade, then store them in the winter. Since we would be gone at the end of the month (and because there were high wind predicted for last night), we decided to take them down early.
Afterwards, we worked on cleaning out the stack of stuff we'd set aside for vacation and then it was time for dinner.
I made a double batch of meatloaf and mashed potatoes and we split the second portion between Barb and Jeff. They are due home tonight and with no time to shop, we decided it would be nice if we had something waiting for them. We also picked up some fruit and yogurt for them for breakfast. I think they will be surprised.
After dinner, TBG went looking for the kitten again and found it, just as it was also discovered by three women. We went to bed happy.
Fast forward to this morning. Again I heard the kitten, but the moment I went outside, it fell silent. I have a feeling that Bast is telling me in no uncertain terms, this is not a kitty's life we are meant to be part of. I will put some food out for it, but I will respect Bast's wishes.
No idea what today holds for me, but I suspect it'll fly by. I hope that your Sunday will be a good one, filled with rest and happiness.
