All good things must come to an end.

Even the best vacation has a final day and that's today for me. Tomorrow is it back to the grind, but only for two and a half days. We are closed Thursday and Friday all day and usually a half day on Wednesday because no one thinks about theatre the day before Thanksgiving here. Then it will be four days of cooking, feasting and all that fun stuff. Maybe we will even decide upon what cookies we are doing this year. I'd really like to do something different.

I have to admit that this was a great vacation and we really had a good time, but coming back to a house that reeked of pee was not a happy thing. I am contemplating getting a pet door (one that locks at night) for them. Perhaps that will stop the acting out.

Today we are heading out of see Castle in the Sky and then will have chicken and dumplings for dinner. I would love to have a fire, but because of the Camp Fire, we still have hazardous air. Happily, it looks like we have a series of storms headed our way which is bad for holiday travelers, but great news for our air. Thankfully, there is only 14 for Thanksgiving Dinner at Barb's and her house can easily accommodate that many.

Finished (I think) my Down the Chimney story for the year. It will depend upon what my beta thinks. She's already sent it back once with a gentle request to re-read it.

Today, my goals are to bring a mess of books to Jeff for Friends of the Library, get all the souvenirs sorted out and figure who's getting what (and gift bags. I need to buy gift bags). I'd also like to get my cards started on, but we will see what happens. First I need to figure out where I put them. :P Shopping early only helps if you can remember such small details.

I hope everyone has a restful and happy Sunday. Remember to be kind to yourself!
