The Inn was pretty quiet when we arrived. The last time, because of the weather, it was overrun with families. Our room was ready and just as cozy (once we got the heat on) as always. Because we are a little early, there aren't as many flowers out, but that's okay.
We were only one of two rooms booked that night and they lavished attention on us. After a bit of a rest, we fiddled with our electronic device (as the room has no TV or radio) for music and read. Well, TBG read and I worked on the computer.
We decided to take advantage of the good weather and drive out of Muir Beach for dinner. We decided upon a restaurant the Boy had taken us to a few years early. When we went there (on a Satruday night), it was packed, so the front desk made made reservations for us at Salida's, but we didn't have to worry. We were the only ones dining on the patio last night. With the heaters, it was wonderful!
We started with crab cakes and potapitos, their specialty (red new potatoes cooked, then deep fried) and crab cakes. Then TBG had sea bass and I had cioppino. I haven't had ii in years because they always serve it with clams. This place, doesn't even offer clams, so I went for it. It was so delicious! For dessert, we had beignets. They were light and airy and wonderful. I was honestly amazed between the wine and the food that I stayed awake for the drive back. TBG handled those curves like a pro and by nine we were tucked in for the night. Best of all no sign of rain yet.
Pictures will be following! Eventually...
