Michael works for Itec Entertainment. They are responsible for creating the show controls (the story behind in the rides) from around the world. While waiting for Mike, we admired and were allowed to take shots of a project they did for Singapore - The Mummy. His expertise leaves me in the dust, but it always has. It was fascinating to see his latest project, which we can't discuss, but he did say half of his techs were over at Universal, finishing up on Hagrid's Wild Ride for Harry Potter World. Some of the others were in Japan and a couple more were working on something over at Disney. It was pretty cool to see the show behind the show (old techs never die)
After that , we went to lunch at a little sushi hole in the wall. Personally, I like Masa's food better and the salt content sort of left me feeling parched the rest of the day. We took a bit of a rest and then went over to the Rives to start cooking.
TBG had promised them a Swiss Roll, so that's what we did. It was amazing how much easier it was this time around. I also finished the applique on my latest project, so I will put it together with the quilting material and it will be ready for the plane ride back.
Dinner was porkchops and sweet potatoes, from Sam Choy, and fresh asparagus. Wendy has gotten addicted to Agua Fresca, so we had it last night with blueberries. Afteweard, we watched the first half of Up From Poppy Hill, but I pulled the plug after both Rose and Mike fell asleep. They were pooped. Back to the hotel to read and relax a bit. I'm going to miss this.
And of course there are photos...
I am apparently unaware of any approaching danger
Me for scale beside the Anubis statue. He's fiberglass and I can almost pick him up
We made a Swiss Roll - it didn't survive dessert)
Jack loves to climb the screens on the Florida porch. They think it's funny now and don't correct him... There will be tears (and tears from his claws) in the future.
Thet swapped out the orchids for these. I liked the orchids better
