Well, that was fun!

In Stockton, we are fortunate because we have Theatre, Opera, Ballet, and a Sympohony. The Symphony has a second season called The Pops. There are just three concerts, but they are always very popular. Yesterday, they closed out their 2018/19 season with Simply Sinatra. It was a fabulous show, but even more fascinating was that his arranger/conductor/trombonist has but one hand and an obvious passion for this music.

This is not the production we saw yesterday, but this is the number we saw him close the show with.

Afterwards, there was a samll recption for the sponsors and their friends at a *ahem* palatial estate, which we later learned was the 'guest cottage' - the actual house, all forty rooms of it, was next door. Anyhow, we got to met and chat with Steve Lippia for a considerable amount of time. Barb was from Philly, as was his family and they struck a common cord. More interesting was being able to chat one-on-one with his conductor. The stories he had to tell was incredible and it really enhanced the day for us.

We left the house at 1:15 and didn't get home until 8:30, although I did run by and feed the cats(and lock the pet door) before going to the reception. The food was light and perfect, the wine never stopped flowing and being out on the canal was so incredible. It was hard to believe we were still in Stockton. All in all, it was truly a lovely event and it didn't matter that I sang along with every song because so was everyone else. Yeah, very good indeed.
