On the plus side, things growing that haven't grown in year. All the seeds have sprouted and if it stops raining long enough, there are photos to be taken. The cherry plum trees are already dropping fruit. By the time June gets here, it will be ready to drop its leaves for fall. What a screwy Spring we've had.
Barb called last night about Memorial Day and she mentioned that Jeff has decided to go on her Costa Rica trip next month. They leave June 17th and return July 3rd. It's going to make it quiet around the house. Of course we have the Speakeasy on the 29th and are supposedly leaving for the bunkhouse on the 30th, so at least there is that.
Supposedly that's the plan. Whether or not it will happen is dicey because there is still a goodly amount of snow in the mountains above 5,000 and the bunkhouse is at 6,500. they picked up another foot yesterday to add to the 17+ inches they got over the weekend. It's the ski season that won't stop. It's not just that the snow needs to melt (and the road goes through very dense woods), but then they have inspect the bunkhouse for damage and do any necessary repairs, as well as turn on the water and bringing in more propane. That usually happens during June, but that might not going to be the case this year. We will see.
If we don't make the bunkhouse, then I'm hoping we might be able to catch a couple of days up in the Foothills. We both have taken the week off, so we'd have the time, but it's always a frantic mess in Sutter Creek in the summer. We will have to see what happens.
Hope everyone is having a tolerable week. Just three more days to go before the long weekend (for the US). I, for one, can't wait...
