(I copped this from her journal)
*More of the curious unexpected topics meme. If you wish to participate let me know in the comments, and I will give you three topics, or spheres of interests, which I think you are not interested in, or maybe you'll surprise me with your interest and/or knowledge. Then you talk about those subjects in your journal. It's interesting to see who knows what about what.*
She gave me:
1. Antarctica - Well, to be honest, I don't know much about this place except that it is very very cold and some place that I have no desire to visit. Our friends did an OAT cruise and had a fun if very cold time. He's a retired elementary science teacher and brought back all sorts of great photos. The penguins are cute, but of course, you can't approach them. I love the light blue snow and this is likely as close as I will ever get to it. I waved when we were in the southern part of New Zealand
2. Bagpipes - okay, being Scottish, I adore bagpipes, both as an instrument and to listen to them. They aren't solely Scottish, of course, but most folks think of Scotland when you mention them. They are a reed like instrument. You filled the bag and play the cantor much like a flute. I've never been any good at it myself, but always start crying when I hear Scotland the Brave played on them. Yes, I have many bagpipe cds and have even attended the Edinburgh Tattoo.
3. Mountain biking - This is something I know nothing about. I do know that their bike tires are different, more solid rubber than air to deal with the abuse. I don't see the reason for riding a bike up the side of a mountain and the trip down terrifies me, even when I'm just watching it.
How about you? You in?
