Last week, I came home and heard a 'cheep' in the living room. It took me forever to find the little bird, but once I did, I returned it to the tree I thought it came from. It decided it didn't like the tree and took off, only to crash land in a bush where Patachou was waiting. I couldn't catch him to rescue the bird a second time.
This morning I came downstairs and there was a hummingbird flying around the living room. I'm glad there was no one home to video me as I frantically tried to get it back outside. I was successful, but then it got tangled up in our bamboo curtain. I freed it, but I think it was all too much for the little one. It flew off, started to fail and Patachou bounded up, grabbed it and took off.
Last night we were coming home from the movies and a car raced in front of us and then suddenly swerved right. There was a person standing in the road. TBG missed him by inches by swerving left. The first car narrowly missed a second person who was standing in the road screaming at the cars. Both were wearing dark clothes and from all appearances homeless. Our downtown is really struggling with an influx of homeless now, due to some of our generous allowances for them. I had a woman pounded on my window just a couple of days ago and demand that I drive her and her boyfriend to Modesto. I didn't, of course, and then she proceeded to tell me just how she felt. I was very glad when the light turned.
Why, oh why put me through these exercises if for naught? I'm not sure which goddess to direct this to, but I think Titan is giving me a hint.
