Yesterday went pretty well. They had our volunteer picnic in the scene shop and with the a/c going it was very comfortable. The food was fabulous and we had a really good time. Best of all, we came home and crashed afterward, napping and reading until I had to go back to the theatre to handle the box office. It was probably one of the easiest times I've had. There were no last minute 'we can't find the tickets' issues and aside from the board president's credit card not working, it wasn't bad. There were several last minute tickets sold for the Bourbon Room, so they had a nice turnout. TBG brought me dinner - a salad and pizza. I have to say California Pizza Kitchen's quality has taken a nose dive recently). And talk about salty. Gads. I drank two bottles of water.
Anyhow, the night went well until we came home and saw a little gray kitten scarfing at one of the outside cat plates. He took off when we got out of the car, so I put some more food out in case he came back. I hope the older cats let him have some. It always makes me sad to see the little ones trying to survive. At least he's got time to grow before winter.
Anyhow, today is a day of rest (I sort of hope that Jeff won't be calling us today to come swimming). I hope everyone has a restful and lovely day!
The appetizer platter that we took to Barb's Friday night. Our friends in Florida sent me a Hickory Farm package, so we made up crackers with various chees, pineapple mustard and hot sweet mustard and turkey sausage (with brown sugar). The cucumber came from our garden and is stopped with a jalapeño bread and butter pickle, roasted pepper and pickled green beans. In the small rectangular dish is roasted garlic and then some homemade croutons to spread the garlic on.
Some things never change. Bête Noir this morning
Yesterday I got an excited call from TBG that Target had their Halloween stuff out. We did a little shopping as we are doing a Dia de los Muertos party this year.
We are going to tackle these cookies this afternoon! I think!
