Work was particularly uninspiring this week. I did sort of finish my project. I finished with all the programs I had access to - now it's a hunt through some really old scrapbooks for the missing ones. So far, I've been pretty lucky. Fingers crossed that it continues.
Last night we tried another Tapa recipe - this one was meatballs with peaches. We had given it high marks before, but not so this time. I found the meatballs bland and uninterested. I think the last time around, I made my usual meatball recipe and just added the sauce. Also, peach season is about behind us and the peaches I used weren't really sweet. Plus I made them smaller and fried them insead of baking them. Oh well.
The cats thought it took too long...
We are pretty much ready to for our dinner party tomorrow night. It's the first time I've planned a mostly vegetarian menu on purpose. I did add shrimp as a side dish because TBG was frothing a bit at the thought of all those vegetables
Bird Nests (these are shredded zucchini, onions and carrots swirled into a bird nest shape, then dipped in a batter and deep fried)
Roasted Root vegetables
Atop baby spinach
Ginger Balsamic Dressing
Gambas al ajillo
(Traditional Garlic Shrimp)
Hongos con Potatas
Oven-roasted potatoes and mushrooms)
(Roasted Eggplant, pepper onion and tomato)
Traditional Flan with fresh berries
My house is clean, the shopping list is ready to go and so far they haven't touched the parking lot. At least my car is parked out on the street, this time.
