After lunch yesterday, we got started on cooking. TBG took on Delmonico Potatoes and I did the fruitcake. We started at one and finished at 5:30. In the meantime, I also did a 'quickie' beef stroganoff. It was a very full afternoon, but it's over and done with now. The cakes will have three weeks to age a bit. The potatoes will be for dinner this week (they are really better heated up). Today is a crash and burn day. I'm doing a lentil soup for dinner tonight and think I will use up some sausage in it. The recipe is pretty straight forward, so no stress there.
If anyone would like recipes, let me know. While the potatoes are involved, they are really good and the stroganoff was very fast and tasty.
So many fruitcakes - 28 in all. That's dehydrated candy lemon on top.
Delmonico Potatoes, still bubling from the oven
Beef Stroganoff over artisan noodles. So yummy (and my glass says, When in doubt, more wine).
