Greetings from Sutter Creek

We had a very smooth and lovely drive up to the Foothills. Traffic was light and there were no issues. We left Stockton at 12:30 and arrived at 1:10, not bad at all. We headed to Rosebud's for lunch and found it very disappointing. Barb had a 'Darn Good Salad' (spinach, nut berries with the dressing on the side). It was so sweet it was almost inedible. TBG had a Monte Cristo. They made it with French toast... sweetened French toast. It was good, but almost too sweet to eat and it was served with a super sweet berry compote. I opted out and had French fries. They were fine, but they came with a (you guessed it) super sweet catsup.

Hopped up on all that sugar, we spent the next hour roaming the streets of Jackson. I bought some small gifts and was over joyed to find some thin ribbon candy - just like we used to have back home. I was thrilled.

Around four, we headed to Sutter Creek and check in at our hotel. It felt good to stretch out and relax. We decided, while grocery shopping that morning to take some Prosecco and apps up the hill. We prepped that in good time and had Barb over at 5:30. Then we headed back to Jackson for dinner at Stanley's.

I was less than overhwelmed by the experience. They dodn't have enough staff and we sat for nearly 20 minutes before being approached. The food took a while to come out and they screwed up TBG's Tom Collins... and gave me a free glass of wine for it (no clue why...) They they ranout of ravioli (I was having a bolognese and they ran out of ravioli), sp I switched it to fetticini alfredo, but they got their wires cross and brought me fetticini bolognese). Barb and TBG had rib eye steak, which they both enjoyed and then we got free desserts because of the delay.

We left the restaurant and the rain had started. Right now it's sprinkling and the weather shows 1005 rain from five onward tonight. Sigh... Not cool At least my urinary thing seems to be doing okay...

Not looking very winter like at all
TBG and Barb ordering homemade raviloi to take home (the hotel stores it in their freezer for us)
