The weather has been blisteringly hot these last few days. We broke records on Friday with a new high of 99 F. Yesterday was ‘cooler’ at 97. Today we head back to the 80’s, but stop there. And! And! There is a whisper of possible rain in the Valley Monday night and Tuesday. It would be most welcomed! Then we head back to our normal temperatures of mid to upper 70’s. I won’t hate that at all.
Of course, this has meant really good growing weather. The squash and beans are doing quite well and enjoying their spanking new shelving unit. We got it at Home Depot and it’s perfect. Yesterday, I transplanted the tomatoes, but no photos until I’m sure they survived. It’s always a gamble for me. I also transplanted the catnip, so there was much rejoicing on the parts of the cats. I’m going to leave the flowers where they are until they get bigger. They are still too small to move. The other news is that the beans I planted last Sunday have already sprouted. The growing system that I am using for them is really earning its keep.
Otherwise, the days stay the same. We saw Barb for dinner Friday night and will see Jeff for lunch today. That will be the high point of our socializing, although I did see both Jenny and Dennis last week (I had to answer a burglar alarm and it turned out to be Dennis). It was nice to talk to them. I saw Jenny again on Friday when I went in to put in a reimbursement form (I picked up some cleaner for the theatre).
Hope that everyone has a lovely day! Stay safe and be careful!
