What a week!

It saw both high and low points, but I suppose that is true of most weeks.

The low point was, of course, Joan and her leg. I bet she wishes she could relive that moment again and change the outcome.

Yesterday I went to see my new eye doctor. She is very good and works in a very similar way to Dr. Hisaka, who taught and trained her. No change in the prescription, which is always good news and healthy eyes, even better news. Best of all, they don't have to dilate your eyes anymore (or at least they don't here). The cost of the exam is high, but worth it. Very high efforts for distancing and sanitation. My hat is off to them.

When I got back out to my car, I noticed a text from Dennis asking me if I'd called Coke to come and move the vending machine. CJ said he was going to call, but either didn't or whatever, so I dropped into work to take care of that. It took all of five minutes to resolve. Araceli was there and wanted to talk about my impending retirement. She is becoming terrified about what will happen when I leave and who will be doing my work, so she asked if I'd write down all the different functions of my job. I suspect I will be spending some time on that after I get the letters done.

Last night we had dinner at a real restaurant (Kitchen at Stonebriar) and the food and service could not have been better. We ate out of the patio. There was one other group of six there at the other end. I saw two tables seated inside. They have their official reopening on the first. Barb had the fish special (fresh mahi-mahi) with risotto and mushrooms, TBG had rib eye with potatoes and grilled asparagus. I had Prime Rib Stroganoff, To start we shared a shrimp cocktail (ten shrimp) and deep fried asparagus, some of the best I've tasted. I had a Caesar and TBG has some Tuscany soup. It was so lovely and a welcome return to our Friday night.

During the meal, I mentioned my retirement and Barb confirmed what TBG thought, that I would not be going back to work in the office before retiring. It makes me sad to think about it, but it's the feeling I am getting as well. Welcome to retirement... what a anti-climax... However, until then, I will still be paid. So that at least is good news.

The weather has cooled and they were even talking rain for today. It sure was good sleeping weather last night!

Whatever your plans are for this weekend, I hope that they come to fruition and that you have a good time with them. Stay safe out there!
