Yesterday was my usual day in the office and Araceli was frantic about a check getting in the mail, so I went in and made sure everything was processed, even to the point of taking that check to the post office (along with everything else). I did a couple of letters and then I got down to the task of tying up loose ends.
I started a procedures file, made copies of all the letter templates I use, made sure there was an adequate supply of forms in the file drawers, made sure all my paid bills and what not were properly filed and up to date. Then I started collecting my things. It seemed odd because I didn't think there was much, but somehow I managed to fill an entire box with stuff and there's still things to take. I will do that next week when I go in to formally meet with Dennis. I suspect it will be later in the day because he doesn't stir (much less shake) before ten.
PG&E has been trying to replace and/or repair their image because of the Paradise fire, so they have spent much of last week and this one jack hammering up the road that runs in front of our place. Yesterday was opposite our part of the complex. It was so unpleasant. Today they move a bit further along.
It was so noisy and hot (102), in fact, that none of the cats would go out. That made them grumpy and Patachou got into a huge fight with Jenny and Pyewacket (He knows better than to touch his actual sibling. She's small but a force to be reckoned with. Jenny came out of it okay, but Pye has a torn ear. Sigh... I'm glad today will be cooler, so perhaps tempers will be better.
For the record, TBG and I are back to our usual selves. We'll pick up the Bronco today (after they smog it) and we are headed over to Jeff's to swim tonight. It should be a good day, even if I have to go in this morning and call the copier repair guy. At least I don't have to worry about dealing with him in person. He's getting Dennis's number as a call back.
