Went into work this morning to handle the bills and checks. For some reason, no one in the office has quite figured out how envelopes work. I mailed off the bills and filed them away, backed up the server and Quickbooks, emptied trash, and repair a shattered picture frame. It was weird because they had moved my desk against the wall. That’s the way it used to be, but then our former business manager, Pat, moved the desks to keep people away from the file cabinet and postage machine. I’m guessing that’s not a concern of Araceli’s or Dennis’s. It was weird to be sitting in a different orientation, but it was just for a half hour. The rest is on them.
While I was there, I did take the opportunity to check out the green room. Man, that place looks great now. It’s not the dive it used to be. It’s been re-painted and wood laminate flooring has been put down. They got rid of the bookcases and half of the furniture. They even put in a flat screen TV so that the actors can watch the action on the stage.
They are also coming along with our black box. The floor is going in now, although I would have painted the walls first. Guess it’s their call, though. It’s looking good and it should be ready to go when and if they ever let the theatre open again.
SCT had staged a fundraiser last month and it did so well, they paired with winery to do on there. Now that the tasting rooms are closed, I’m wondering if that will happen at all. It’s scheduled for the first weekend in August, so there’s a little time, but not much. It’s been a helluva year so far.
