Friday night we had our second fundraiser for the theatre out at Durst Winery. What a lovely place and it was perfect for us - plenty of space so all the tables were well spaced out and everyone was masked except for the singers and they were about twenty feet from the first tables. The wine was good and they even gave each table a complimentary bottle. They has desserts from a local bakery that were very tasty. Best of all, they had three chocolate labs that acted as a welcoming committee to everyone arriving.
It was basically the same show. The more I hear The Stars and the Moon. the more I like it. They had gotten rid of the more depressing songs and exchanged them for more upbeat pieces, like They Just Keep Moving the Line, the theme for COVID.
Before that, we had dinner at the Brick Wall and that was fabulous. We started off with drinks and coconut prawns and a prawn cocktail that we shared. I had Fettuccini Alfredo, Barb had a short back rib over polenta and TBG has veal scaloppini. Everything was cooked perfectly and their outside area was large and airy.
It was wonderful and so nice to see everyone supporting the theatre and still staying safe. We need to do more of this.
Then came Saturday. I slept in until five, which is very late for me. I dragged myself out of bed and tried to get everything done (grocery shopping, chores, etc.), but I was dragging. Plus my ears are plugged up again and I'm having trouble hearing. Grumble. I got some meds and all they seemed to do was zonk me out. I got home at 9 from our usual shopping, took the meds and pretty much slept until three in the afternoon. It was like Saturday never happened. yet, somehow I managed sesame chicken for lunch and grilled steak, carrots and Tuscan Potatoes Packet (a combination of potatoes, onions, garlic, Rosemary, red pepper, salt and pepper, sealed in an aluminum pouch and grilled. I even made flan.
So far Sunday has been a little better. I did banana pancakes for breakfast and am making chili for dinner. Lunch will be whatever is in the fridge and then a nap, please. I even got out the Walmart and Joann's and picked up fabric. I am well stocked now.
On that note, I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!
