It's days like this...

We are in the middle of a bone fide heatwave with daytime highs in the 105+ range. We are being warned to stay in, stay cool, stay hydrated and not get over-heated... so what does PG&E do? Yeah, rolling black outs, without a word of warning to anyone. Ours hit at 6:33 last night and lasted until 7:44. Doesn't sound too bad, just an hour? It was 107 at that point outside. I honestly don't see how this saves energy because when everything comes back on line, it takes twice as much power to cool things down again. I just don't get it. Anyhow, it's someone else's turn tonight...

Because of the heat, we did our shopping early Saturday morning and then had breakfast. We were done and back home by nine. Strangely enough, none of the cats seemed all that interested in being outside. I made sure there was a big bowl of fresh water for the outside cats - I worry about them at this time of the year. We spent the rest of the day in house with the drapes drawn. Even TBG didn't want to leave.

This morning we are heading over to Jeff's for breakfast and a swim (at 8). He brought me a couple dozen apples, so I am making strudel this morning with them this morning. And baking bread, I hope. I'm going to try to get everything done at once so I can only bring up the oven once. Otherwise I will leave the bread for tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone has a lovely (and cool) day, unless you are really into the heat and then I hope you have a very warm day. Stay safe out there!
