Orlando – Day 7

Another quiet day – I could get used to this.  Since it was Sunday, we had a bit later start this morning.  We started the day with Eggs Benedict.  They have a toaster than you practically need an engineering degree to use.  Sigh.  I’m still using a plain old toaster, theirs is high tech.

After breakfast, it was chore day for W and she got TBG to go along.  R & M went to the pool store (again) and I suffered through lounging around by the pool with my Kindle.  It was a quiet morning.

We watched the rest of the documentary about the Wrecking Machine (a group of studio musicians that played for practically EVERY record made in the 60’s and 70’s).  It was fascinating.

M, R & W opted out of lunch and so we headed back to the hotel for a bit of a rest.  We didn’t mean to opt out of lunch, too, but we ended up doing just that.  We finally turned the TV on and I watched an episode of Myth and Monsters while hemming my pants.

At 4:30, we presented ourselves at the house as we were going out to dinner.  Surprise of all surprises, no one was ready.  It’s a bit like trying to herd cats with them – and M will have it his way, period.  He didn’t want to eat until a certain time and he puttered and dragged his feet until the very last minute.

We got to Carraba’s (an Italian place we don’t have in CA) and it was practically empty.  Two servers got into a fight about which table we were going to sit at.  They both ended up being sent home, but that made the night very crazy.  The manager took our order and seriously messed it up.  We waited twenty minutes for wine glasses and poor W got her cappuccino halfway through her meal.  However, the food was good, although the Fettuccini Alfredo was not as good as Macaroni Grill.  It was still a nice evening.  We finally got out of there and the place was packed.  I felt badly for the wait staff.  Like everywhere, they had big signs saying that they were hiring.  Everywhere we look here, those signs are out.

We came back to the room and I read while TBG was The Princess Diaries for the 100th time.  Sleep didn’t seem to want to come last night and I had to work hard for it.  Sigh…

P.S.  Forgot to mention that Saturday, we saw a rocket launch from the pool.  It took off from Cape Canaveral and M just happened to be watching the news.  He shouted for us to look up and there it was.  How cool is that?  :DD
