Just wondering

When did you make your last drip candle?

So, have you ever ridden on one of these death machines?

Have you ever play in a hay loft?  Would you like to?

I don’t know that I have ever done that, though I have made dip and moulded candles in the past.

Of course. It was probably my favourite piece of playground equipment. Even more fun than getting the swing to go as high as possible and then jumping off.

I did play in a hayloft a few times. Loose hay is way more fun than bales.
I can't remember why we did. I think we got a bottle of chianti as a hostess gift and it seemed the thing to do with it.

Yes, but you couldn't build forts and tunnels from loose hay. My mother lived in fear of me being buried alive in hay bales.

1. So looong ago I honestly cannot remember!

2. Yes

3. Yes
Same with mine, but I was old enough to empty the bottle first. At least that narrows it down to forty years!
When did you make your last drip candle? That would be never.

So, have you ever ridden on one of these death machines? A couple of years ago with my granddaughters. They were still little though, almost 3 and almost 4, so it wasn't a fast ride.

Have you ever play in a hay loft? Would you like to? We didn't have hay lofts when I was growing up but we did play on our haystack (until we got into trouble for messing up the stack). Hay is fun.
Never? Wow. They were a rite of passage for us.

It had to be somewhere other than the US. Most of ours have been removed as too dangerous.

Hay was fun, although I suspect it would b itchy now.
I haven't done any of those three things since I was a kid, but I have done all three.
Kids thee days don't know what they missed.
1. 3 years ago. 2. Definitely and survived :) 3. Never , but would want to.
I think playing in the hayloft was one of my favorite things about growing up on the farm, especially in the winter when my older cousins would tell ghost stories. :DD

1990s @ Dollywood.
Like dark_phoenix54 never puked, never got hurt.
Yes I did, we made secret tunnels with trapdoor & slides.

Well, at least you remember when a bit more than I do.

We didn't have trapdoors, but we did build forts with tunnels.
I haven't actually MADE candles since Junior High, and that was those dipped ones at Sutters Fort. Very simple.

The spinning wheel? Oh heck yeah, I loved those! Went flying off them so fast it's like we were all getting renewed on Logan's Run. Skinned knees? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.

I tried it...once. Turns out I'm slightly allergic to hay. I somehow manage sitting on haystacks at Ren Faires, but mostly because I have 3-4 layers of clothing on me at those. Guess I wasn't meant for farm life.
I remember having such fun with dropping candles as a kid and when I tried it as an adult, it left me wondering if I'd been all there as a child.

I was terrified of them, so of course, couldn't leave them alone. :D

Oh, dear...
I...um...never? Except possibly at one of those "this is how we did it in the olden days" parks where they were making beeswax candles and invited us to dip the fingerlings with their help.

I never rode that kind, I rode the kind with the wooden bench seats and hand rails that you could run around on the inside of the seats and get slammed by metal bars when you tripped.

Yes, we had a hay loft but the hay was baled and there was no place to jump down (no open rafters, either). You could climb down using the stairs to the garage my dad built or you could climb down the ladder into my pony's stall or you could climb down the ladder into the cow barn.
You never made a drip bottle? I think they look cool, but so much work...

Never heard of that kind...

Interesting. I used to love to walk along the rafters. We had rope swings for when the hay got lower enough.
