I've sort of gotten a handle on things now, so I'm going to just do a blanket thanks to all of you who were so kind to respond. It was a surprise and it wasn't. I sort of knew something big was happening, just not what. In any event, he's no longer in pain, we had a great day together on Thursday and I know we did the right, if not the easy, thing.
